Derrick Oil & Supply, Inc., with a mission to provide quality products and superior service, brings to RelaDyne 30 years of reliable business practices serving the Golden Triangle of East Texas. From its inception, Derrick Oil has been known as the most customer-focused lubricant and fuel supply business in the Port Arthur, Beaumont and Orange, Texas areas with a strong reputation for service. The branch is strategically located between Houston, Texas and Lake Charles, Louisiana, ideal for servicing the East Texas market.
Formed in 1977 by Roland and Shirley Alphin, Derrick Oil & Supply was primarily geared toward auto parts, discount stores and lube shops selling case oil, wiper blades, spark plugs, etc. Rick Alphin joined the business to help his mother, Shirley, after his father, Roland, died unexpectedly in 1978.
In 1979 Rick's wife, Cindy, joined the business in a clerical position as the company continued to move forward. During this time, Derrick Oil was a direct distributor of Texaco, Kendall, Amalie, and Valvoline lubricants. In the mid-1980s due to the decrease of mom and pop chain parts and discount stores, the Alphins began to steer the company more toward industrial business with drum and bulk oil accounts and the addition of fuel and Arco Lubricants to its product line.
Today Derrick Oil & Supply is a distributor of Chevron and Texaco Lubricants, Pure Guard lubricants, Primrose lubricants, chemicals and fram filters. Rick and Cindy Alphin continue to play major roles in Derrick Oil after joining RelaDyne, with Cindy taking the role of General Manager of Derrick Oil. They continue to provide the same standard of excellent service established by Roland Alphin in 1977.
