The Hurt Company, Inc., a family-owned, third-generation distributor of lubricants and fuel, brings to RelaDyne a proven mission: providing reliability-centered lubrication solutions that generate measurable and documented results. In particular, the company has a long track record of implementing the best practices that form the basis of Field Reliability Management (FRM), the platform on which RelaDyne is based. These proven principles have been shown to reduce equipment downtime and produce substantial savings. One Texas oil refinery, for example, documented more than $1 million in savings over four years and a 25% reduction in equipment failures.

Started in 1958, The Hurt Company was founded in Houston, Texas by A.J. Hurt Sr., who was joined shortly after by his son Jack. For more than five decades, the company has been actively involved in marketing and distributing lubricant and fuel products in addition to providing lubrication services throughout the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. With Chevron products as its flagship brand, the company is one of the largest Chevron lubricant marketers in the U.S. and has won numerous awards. A recent Chevron Product Integrity Compliance Survey of facilities, equipment and procedures, for example, honored The Hurt Company with an exceptional rating.

The company's former President and Chief Executive Officer Jay Hurt serves as RelaDyne's Executive Vice President, Field Reliability Management, from his base in Houston. The Hurt Company will continue to be run by its current management team.
